Meals

At 3 Bears Cottage, food is about much more than nutrition—it’s about connection, culture, and community. Each day, children enjoy freshly prepared morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea from the Surf Club Restaurant and Bar, with parents updated through the Xplor app.

Learning continues beyond the table, with children planting and harvesting veggies, collecting eggs from our chickens, and sharing produce with families. We also weave Indigenous ingredients like lemon myrtle and wattle seed into our menus, paired with stories about Country to highlight food as culture and respect.

Families are part of the journey too, with our Family Menu Book celebrating favourite recipes from home. Recognised with awards for innovation and menu design, our food program is most rewarding in the everyday moments—children trying new flavours, sharing with friends, and proudly tasting what they’ve helped grow.

At 3 Bears, food nourishes bodies while also growing hearts, memories, and connections.

Essentials

Life with little ones can be busy, so we make things easier by providing all the everyday essentials—nappies, bibs, sunscreen, and bedding—for every child. Families don’t need to pack big bags or juggle supplies at drop-off, which helps evenings feel calmer and mornings run more smoothly.

Parents often share how much difference this makes at home, giving them more time for the important moments—like reading a story, sharing breakfast, or enjoying an extra cuddle. It’s one of the ways we support families as well as children, making sure little ones are comfortable and cared for while easing the load for parents.

Excursions

Our service is about more than care within our walls—it’s about building strong ties to the local community. Regular excursions, even for our littlest learners in the baby room, create meaningful experiences that spark curiosity, social skills, and confidence from the very beginning.

What sets us apart is making these experiences regular, intentional, and inclusive for every child and family. By taking learning beyond the classroom, we foster lasting community connections and give children opportunities that stay with them long after they leave us.

Connected

Our service makes it easy for families to stay connected through our very own Xplor App. Parents can receive updates about their child throughout the day, from daily activities to important reminders, giving peace of mind no matter where they are.

We understand that sometimes a face-to-face conversation is best. Families are always welcome to speak with us in the office, contact us via email, or arrange a meeting with educators at a time that’s convenient.

For more details on using the app and other ways to stay in touch, please visit our Parents Corner, where you’ll find helpful guidance and information.

Giving

Our Giving Circle is a way for families to support one another through life’s ups and downs. From swapping clothes and books to organising food trains, families come together to share kindness in practical, meaningful ways. A home-cooked meal, especially during times like welcoming a new baby or facing illness, can make a world of difference.

These acts of care reflect the same philosophy we embrace at the service—community, generosity, and togetherness. Children see compassion in action and learn that being part of a community means supporting one another in both good times and hard times.

The Giving Circle reminds us that we are stronger together, nurturing not just children but the families who love them.

Community

We are grateful to have been part of this community for 30 years, and giving back is at the heart of who we are. From time to time, we will ask for parents’ support in our fundraisers—whether that’s donating items, lending a hand, or simply showing up in encouragement. Their involvement is a huge part of what makes these efforts so meaningful.

Our fundraisers—whether a market day, blanket drive, or supporting local initiatives—are about more than raising money. They bring families, children, and educators together, building connections and showing the power of community.

For children, these experiences are powerful lessons. They see their families and educators working side by side, showing that being part of something bigger means caring, sharing, and helping others. The values of kindness and generosity they witness will stay with them long after the fundraiser ends.

We are proud to call this community home, and even prouder to give back to it.
